Project: Mount Brown Estates: Brand Strengthening

Mount Brown Estates

We have worked with Mount Brown Estates for a number of years now, designing wine labels and helping with marketing campaigns. We were very excited when they approached us at the start of 2019 saying they were ready to take their brand to the next level. This didn’t mean just strengthening the look of the brand, but what the story behind Mount Brown Estates really was, and how we could make that clearer to wine lovers around New Zealand and beyond.

We swiftly launched in to our four-stage process, and discovered the ‘why’ behind Mount Brown Estates; their team, the vineyards, and the winery. Everything they do comes from a great understanding of the entire process of creating wine, and knowing that having care and control over the process from vine-to-bottle allows Mount Brown Estates to create the high quality drop that they do.

Going through this research, development, and final story telling process allowed our creative juices to flow in to how we might let this story flow in to the visual representation of the band. And thus, we were inspired by the teams’ passion for the process, and their work ethic on the vineyard and in the winery. The entire team is a hands-on, can do bunch, and the story behind father-daughter duo, Tony and Catherine, having literally built this business with their own hands – we wanted to reflect that in the creative. So we set out gathering some historical scribblings of their original plans for the vineyard and winery as graphic elements, and also developed some intricate and rustic hand-drawn pieces of vineyard and winery imagery.

The overall effect is a slick but warm and approachable brand, elevating their business in the market and helping to drive interest and trust in the brand.

MEditerranean foods

After presenting another creative rebrand concept to Mediterranean Foods, they locked in this one, a simple but warm and inviting Mediterranean aesthetic which promises delicious produce and goods from the Mediterranean region. We went on to develop their branding collateral, stationary, and a stunningly simple website with a third party back-end wholesale ordering system for their regular clients in the hospitality industry to aid efficiency in their warehouse processes out in Rangiora.

NIUE’S SECRET: NONI JUICE LABEL

A simple and fun little job! Niue have embarked on exporting their local health supplement juice made from their native fruit, the noni berry, and approached us to come up with a simple and colourful label. This is what we had fun coming up with, and they were so happy with them we’ve now been invited to visit Niue!

Nelson Walker Wines

Nelson Walker Wines is a new company supplying top quality wines at great value prices, from selected vineyards around Australia’s premier wine growing regions specifically for the Chinese market. They approached G&A for a company logo, a brand for their Thirsty Matilda wines, and a product catalogue. We came up with a vibrant, lively, and passionately Australian-looking brand and set of labels for Thirsty Matilda, featuring Australian Outback landscapes and a splash of rich colour representative of Aboriginal paint pigments made from the land.

We also wrote, created the content and co-ordinated production of the catalogue. Nelson Walker’s Chinese clients can now compile their own special event or corporate wine brand and labels from components and templates generated by G&A, or order a completely bespoke label done from scratch.

MEDITERRANEAN FOODS [CONCEPT WORK]

Mediterranean Foods wholesale food company approached us to rebrand their business after they separated from a sister retail company of the same name. They needed to have a completely separate and strong visual identity from the other Mediterranean Foods to maintain their exposure and to avoid any confusion that the two were the same company. This was a first concept we presented to them based on the whimsical romance of the Mediterranean, which in the end was deemed to be a bit much – but we loved it so wanted to share it!
